Cleveland History Center

In July 2024, I had the opportunity to join the staff of The Cleveland History Center as a museum educator. I learned a great deal about Ohio history and enjoyed engaging with kids and leading field trips.

In between teaching, I connected with staff members who had seen my work and were interested in using my existing talents for illustration or graphic design work for events or exhibits.

Ohio History Day 2025

In March 2025, the Cleveland History Center hosted the Cleveland chapter of Ohio History Day. Students from 6th to 12th grade created projects based on a theme and visited the museum to present their work to a group of judges in hopes of going to the state competition.

I illustrated a design for the theme, Rights and Responsibilities. I went through an ideation phase and was inspired by protest signs used in marches to represent the importance and responsibility of using your voice in your community and country.

1916 Owen Magnetic Diagram

I had the opportunity in 2024-2025 to reimagine a diagram for a rare car for the Cleveland History Center’s collection. The 1916 Owen Magnetic was created as an early hybrid car using only magnetism to transmit power from the engine to the wheels.

The Transportation Curator wanted to put this car on display but the only diagram that existed was an overly simplified drawing from the 1960s. I spent months studying manuals and marketing materials to understand how the car functioned in order to create a new diagram that would be visually appealing and easily understood by the average visitor.
